DIRECTIONS

Take Arizona I40 to exit 37. Head east on Griffith Rd (turns to dirt immediately east of the offramp) about 0.4 mi to a north-south frontage road. Turn left (north) and continue about 2.7 miles to the control point. This road is probably passable by 2WD vehicle but your mileage may vary.

COMMENTS

The dirt road out to the control point is not heavily trafficked. While it's about three miles back to the interstate, be sure to bring water, a spare tire, tools, hat, etc. During the summer the hike can be lethal if you're not prepared.

The mountains immediately to the east are the Hualapais, with a maximum elevation of over 8400'. A BNSF radio site is atop this range at the north end providing road, pbx and ATCS channels.

There may also be another radio site nearly due south in the Mohave Mountains at Crossman Peak. This might also be ATCS (or maybe it's the only one?)
